Meal prepping is one of the best ways to stay on a diet and get the results you want for your body. If you have failed to diet before then meal prepping is a surefire way to get the results and stay committed.

Failing to Plan Ahead
There is an old saying: "If you fail to plan than to plan to fail" and the same goes for meal prepping. If you are going to do all your cooking on Sunday afternoon than you need to make sure you visit the local grocery store and that you have all the ingredients that you're going to need.
This will save you the hassle of getting home to find out you are missing 2-3 meals and finding out that you are going to have to revisit the store and cook again in the middle of your week.
This is when we find most people fail. They are tried from work and life and mid-week when they run out of food, it's the last thing anyone wants to do. So make sure you have your list in hand and you know how much you are going to need and save yourself from failing to have enough food mid-week.
Not Knowing Your Numbers
So how much should you be eating? Well, this depends on the person and your approach. I personally count macro's. This allows me to know exactly what I can and can't eat and also allows me to have cheat meals when i'm feeling down because I have eaten chicken and rice the last 3 days. If you count calories than just work out the calories and if your plan is to just eat clean that make sure you follow only that. The main thing is to be consistent in whatever your approach.
Cooking at the Right Time
Like Monday is chest day. Meal prep day is Sunday night or afternoon. Of course, you don't have to follow this rule but normally this is the best time to do it. It allows you to have an incentive to cook because you want to start next week on the right foot and also most people have Sunday off and they are relaxed and not under any time pressure to get anything else done. We recommend Sunday but of course pick any day you wish.
Not Cooking in Bulk
I have seen people complain about cooking in bulk and it's true food doesn't taste as good as the first day but every time I have seen someone try to cook in 2 batches. 1 on Sunday and 1 on Thursday it fails. People run out of energy and effort mid week and more often than not they find themselves eating out because they don't have any meals left. If this was what you were thinking then I encourage you to first just meal prep on Sunday for the week and as you get use to it then move on to the more advanced method of 2 cooks a week.
Not Having a Meal Prep Bag.
It's all well and good if you have all your meals prepped and ready to go, only to find out that they have gone bad on the way to work. This is a common mistake beginners make. They think they are prepared but they forget to buy a meal prep bag that will keep their food cold. Keeping your food fresh while you travel to work, gym or just out and about.
